When are the lunch clubs and men's groups held? Our lunch clubs are held every weekday, from mid morning to mid afternoon. Mondays and Thursdays are men's group days and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are mixed lunch clubs.

Who can attend the lunch clubs and men's groups? Our lunch clubs and men's groups are available for any Gateshead residents aged 65 and over. Our clubs are suitable for people with disabilities and the early stages of dementia and many other health conditions. Attendees must have some independence as we are unable to provide any personal care.

How do people join the lunch clubs? We receive referrals on behalf of older people by health professionals, support services and family members, loved ones or carers. Older people can refer themselves too. To refer yourself or someone else, please call us on 0191 4600297. We will then arrange a home assessment for the person who would like to come along to our centre. Before or after the home assessment, people are more than welcome to visit the centre to meet the team and have a look at our facilities and what we offer.
-
What happens at the home assessment? Our friendly coordinators carry out a home assessment to introduce themselves, meet the person that might be interested in coming along as well as any loved ones or carers. The coordinators can tell you all about the lunch clubs, men's groups, transport, our centre and answer any questions. They will also carry out a risk assessment to comply with health and safety requirements. Once the home assessment is complete, people can then come in for an initial visit or can join right away.
