Relax in Good Company
Join us from mid morning to mid afternoon on Mondays or Thursdays (or both!) to relax, read the newspaper, join in with the banter, play games and share stories.

There's always a warm welcome at our centre, on Bolam Street, Teams. We have all of the facilities available to ensure that our attendees have a great day out.
Transport
If you live locally, why not use our accessible minibus that can pick you up from your door, bring you to our centre and take you home again afterwards.

Transport is available in Teams, Bensham, Lobley Hill, Dunston, Salwell and Central Gateshead. If you're unsure if you live in our transport area, please call us on 0191 4600297. Transport is £4 and includes both journeys from home and back again.
Hearty, Traditional Meals
Our two course meals are £7.50 for a main meal plus a pudding, and are freshly prepared each day by our wonderful cooks. There's plenty of baked goods to take home too.

Our regular attendees from our local area benefit from peace of mind when they are unable to come to the centre while recovering from illness or injury, as we will always deliver a hot meal to them at home if wanted.

"Can I attend the lunch clubs and the men's groups each week?"
Of course! Some gentlemen like to attend the lunch clubs and men's groups throughout the week. Each group offers a different atmosphere, friendship group whilst keeping all of the favourite elements such as tasty food, plenty of conversation and activities such as our popular daily quiz.

"I don't live in the areas that your minibus transport is available, can I still attend?"
Yes. We welcome anyone who is aged over 65 and wants to join us at our centre. People who live outside of our transport area travel to us by other methods such as a lift from a relative or friend, public transport or taxi.

"What does a typical day at the men's group involve?"
Our minibus driving team, Dave and Janos, arrives to pick our men's group attendees up at their homes from around 10am and bring everyone to the centre by around 11am, The gentlemen who do not use our minibus tend to arrive from 10am. Linda, our Day Centre Coordinator, and Colin or Liz, our Day Centre Activities Assistants will greet you with a cup of tea and biscuits. While our cooks prepare your lunch, there is time to catch up with friends, have a game of dominoes or read the day's newspaper. Just before lunch we have our famous daily quiz. After lunch and pudding, there is more time to take part in any activities you wish to, such as bowling competitions on the Wii U, games, indoor sports or chatting to the gents and staff. From around 2pm, Dave and Janos prepare the minibus to take people home.
