Easter is a great time to get together, and our lunch clubs and men's groups are a perfect setting for creative Easter crafts. We've been making colourful Easter baskets and decorating paper egg cut outs, and when paired with a lovely two course lunch, and transport from home and back again, it makes for a perfect day out this Springtime.

The Benefits of Easter Crafts in Group Settings
Crafting in a group setting offers many benefits, especially for older people. It's great for creativity, fine motor skills, and perfect for building and strengthening friendships. We see firsthand how activities like these help people to relax, share stories, and cheer each other on. This social interaction helps reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, and helps to keep these feelings at bay too.
Activities in group settings are great for supporting mental health too, and encourages focus, concentration and hand-eye coordination. It builds social networks that can help older people feel valued and connected.
How Our Groups Support Older People
Our lunch clubs and men's groups provide regular opportunities for older people to come together. Each session includes a freshly prepared two course meal, giving local older people a warm welcoming space to enjoy nutritious, hearty food in good company.
Transport is available in our local area too, removing barriers that might prevent older people from attending. Our accessible minibus ensures everyone living in Teams, Bensham, Lobley Hill, Duston, Saltwell and Central Gateshead can join without worry.
