At our lunch clubs recently, held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at our centre on Bolam Street, Teams for over 65s, we’ve been getting creative with something simple yet beautiful.
Button art!

Using a mix of colourful buttons on canvas, our lunch club friends have been designing unique pictures. No two pieces are the same, and that’s part of the joy.
Crafting with buttons is fun and it brings with it some real benefits.
The gentle movement of sorting, placing, and fixing buttons helps keep hands nimble and supports fine motor skills. It also gives the mind a boost, encouraging focus, creativity, and problem-solving.
Just as important, these sessions spark laughter, conversation, and friendships. It's proof that the best art is often made together.
If you’d like to join us for lunch, friendship, and creative projects like this, we’d love to welcome you. Get in touch to find out more by calling 0191 4600297. We'd love to welcome you.
If you live in Teams, Bensham, Dunston, Saltwell, Lobley HIll or Centralk Gateshead, we have accessible minibus transport from home and back again too!
