Teams and Bensham Community Care Receives over £1,500 from the Co-op Local Community Fund

We’re delighted to share that Teams and Bensham Community Care has received generous support from the Co-op Local Community Fund towards activities at our lunch clubs and men’s groups.

Through the fund, we received an initial £500, followed by an incredible £1,113 raised by Co-op Members who chose our charity as their local cause. This wonderful contribution will help us continue providing warm, welcoming spaces where older people in our community can enjoy good company, nutritious meals, and engaging activities that support their wellbeing.

The Local Community Fund supports projects in communities that provide access to opportunities and resources for people to thrive. Every time Co-op Members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, they help raise funds for local causes and they can choose which cause they’d like to support through their membership.

We’re so grateful to the Co-op and its members for their ongoing commitment to local communities. Their support helps us bring people together, reduce isolation, provide a range of wellbeing-enhancing activities and make a real difference in the lives of older people across Gateshead.

There's a range of activities at each group, a freshly cooked two-course meal, refreshments and accessible minibus transport from home and back again in the local area.
