Thanks to funds raised by players of People's Postcode Lottery, our Gateshead-based organisation, Teams and Benshsam Community Care, can continue to provide groups and activities to ensure older people are connected and engaged within their communities.

The funds, awarded by the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust will be used towards core costs for the next 12 months to deliver three lunch clubs and two men’s groups, held every week at our welcoming and accessible centre on Bolam Street, Teams.
Each lunch club and men’s group offers a freshly cooked, two course meal, transport from home and back again, wellbeing-enhancing activities and most importantly, the opportunity to create lasting friendships. Each group is key in reducing social isolation among older adults.
Thanks to funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, Teams and Bensham Community Care is one of many organisations that has been supported by the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust.
We are incredibly grateful for this generous grant from the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust. This funding will enable us continue to make a significant impact in Gateshead, helping people aged 65 years and over to stay connected, engaged, and supported in their communities.
